Mark Douglas
Managing Partner
Mark is the Managing Partner of Blue Ptarmigan, Management and Training Consultancy specialising in helping people perform better in the workplace. He has specific expertise Business Growth, Leadership and Management Development, Strategic Planning, Change Management, Operations Management and Personal Resilience with a proven track record of delivering significant organisational improvements and results. He has extensive experience in partnering with business owners, managers and directors, in the design and delivery of performance improvement interventions.
Mark has had a wide and varied career covering Healthcare, Retail, Change Management, Supply Chain & Operations, HR, Learning & Development, Property Development, Dundee Business School along with being a business mentor and coach with the Princes Trust. He has extensive experience in the design and delivery of people based ‘performance improvement interventions’ for SME’s, public sector bodies, third sector organisations and large corporations.
Qualification Info: Mark has an MBA from the Open University and Pharmacy BSc (Hons) from Heriot-Watt University. His MBA electives were ‘Strategy’, ‘Creativity, Innovation and Change’, ‘Human Resources’ and ‘Financial Strategy’.
Interesting Info: When not working he is a mad keen cyclist, hill walker, skier in fact anything outdoors. And on the dark winter nights he can be found in his shed tinkering with old cars and motorbikes.
Kenny Wiggins

Kenny is a successful commercially led ‘can do’ professional with 35 years demonstrable international senior leadership experience of achievement, gained across multiple sectors in fast-moving environments. A team player with a strong sense of value and integrity, who has the ability and experience to question purpose, and drive direction with long-term vision across disciplines & across cultures, with a focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Following a successful employed career, in 2010 Kenny embarked on building a ‘Portfolio Career’ as a Blue Ptarmigan Associate, Consultant, Chair/NxD, Advisor and Coach/Mentor working with Scottish SMEs with a focus on governance, strategy development/strategic relationships and sustainable business growth.
He naturally brings a zest, passion and team spirit to the incessant drive for increased profitability, business growth and greater cost effectiveness. Kenny has a track record in creating an environment suitable for business/individual growth & expression while leading professional teams to positively impact an organisation’s performance & profitability. His passion is to increase client/customer satisfaction & have ‘fun’ within our working life.
His specialties are: Business Growth, Leadership Development, Strategy Development and Delivery, People Management, Coaching and Client/3rd Party Relationships.

We often get asked about our Company name Blue Ptarmigan.
So here’s our story. A Ptarmigan is a mountain bird that lives in the high mountains of Scotland, North America and the Far East. It does not migrate but adapts to its environment, it is seasonally camouflaged as its feathers change from grey/brown/black in the summer to white in the winter. It has learnt that by adapting to its operating environment it can thrive despite global warming, wind farms and other environmental impacts – there lies the link with our Company ethos; adapt to your operating context, don’t keep wishing the weather will improve and you to can thrive whatever the forecast. And Blue, because we thought it made a good logo!
